About Forze

Forze, named after the Formula Zero competition, was founded in 2007 by Edgar van Os. From then until now, 17 years later, Forze has flourished from building go-karts to Le Mans Prototype racing cars performing in official competitions. Something as extraordinary as this is only possible with real dedication, which the students at Forze have proven year after year.

Each year, a group of students devote their time to design, develop, and produce hydrogen electric fuel cell powered racing cars to show the world that the future of racing lies with hydrogen. A sustainable alternative to the conventional cars that make use of fossil fuels to power the car. It has always been the mission of Forze to promote hydrogen as a fuel of the future in the automotive industry. And in the last few years, hydrogen has become more and more popular and there are hydrogen powered cars on the market already.

At Forze, we stand for a sustainable future for mobility. Together with battery electric vehicles we want to compete against petrol-powered cars. To make this a reality, a team of hard-working and ambitious people is necessary. Every year a group of more than 30 TU Delft students take a gap year from their studies to fully commit to the Forze team. They are supported by an equal number of part-timers. All our team members decided to join Forze to work voluntarily with their passion for sustainability, technology, and hydrogen. A team filled with such passion, enthusiasm and determination is what makes Forze a success. That, and also the many years of knowledge and growth that Forze has seen so far. Every year a new team of students is chosen to continue the work, which also comes with its challenges. It is important to have an efficient transfer of knowledge between two teams, but at the same time it is comforting for new teams to know that they have the knowledge and support of their predecessors.

Teams of amazing students, year after year, with such an ambitious goal in mind is what has made Forze what it is today. A team with a history of already eight excellent hydrogen electric powered vehicles that have each shown the world how incredible hydrogen and Forze are. A first ever hydrogen racing car, setting lap records, and competing with petrol cars and beating them are just the start. Let’s see what more the teams of Forze will bring to the world!
